Maps in App and Robot Status make no Sense

This is two views from the app. Notice that the robot status and the map are not aligned.

The bot cannot be charging and down the hall. Same with "ready".

I think the persistently viewable map in the new app is confusing.

This also highlights the slow map update frequency others have mentioned.

I think it's good to have viewable when the robot is running or in trouble.

Once robot has redocked due to being finished it should be filed away.

The chance of the mismatch is too high otherwise.

As a software developer, I can't understand why this map is displayed in the view that is loaded when the app is started.

Everything tells me that this is NOT a good idea.

Just look at the App Rating in the Google Playstore.
A lot people lowerd the rating from 4 or 5 Stars to 2 or 1 Star.
Everyone who did that says, thats because of the damn Map

  • We chose to try with the map in the front to get everything our users use the most at the tip of their fingers. All relevant controls available as you open the application and the next thing we are usually looking for is how is the cleaning going or how did my last clean go.
The thinking behind is eas of use and finding what you need at the first screen instead of digging down and thru.

When we separate live and history I still think that it is a good idea that will be well-liked.
